Terms of service.
This is the not-so-fun, but very-necessary part of my job…
The following are general terms and conditions that apply to most projects in which you, the client, hire me, Laura Lorta, to provide you with a service.
The client and I will discuss and agree upon the service to be delivered prior to any work beginning. In order to have written records, all communication regarding a project will happen via email.
All drafts will be delivered via email, unless otherwise agreed upon. (For example, you may choose to add me as a contributor to your website/social media account to simplify the posting process).
For fixed services, such as social media posts and blog posts, fees include one draft and one edit. Additional edits and requests may require additional fees, which vary depending on the extent of the edits.
There is a 50% deposit required before any work can begin. Invoices will be sent via Paypal and the deposit is due upon receipt. The remaining 50% must be paid within 3 days of the agreed-upon work being submitted. For example, if you purchase a bundle of 4 blog posts, your invoice will be due in full 3 days after the final blog post is submitted. This 50% deposit may be waived for long-term, trusted clients. If other accommodations are needed for payment, they may be arranged, but only prior to work beginning. Failure to pay may result in escalation through Paypal.
No new projects will be initiated until previous invoices are paid in full.
Once your payment clears, you own the purchased copy/content. You may reproduce said content/copy as you see fit, with the exception of re-selling to a third party. In the event of a re-sell, a 25% royalty fee will be due. However, if I write copy for your website and you want to use that copy in a marketing email or social media post, you are within your right to do so. Your project may be included in the Portfolio page of lauralorta.com for marketing purposes, unless you expressly request it to be omitted.
Moving forward with a project will be regarded as your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
